Petitioning Bishop Luffa School

We are asking for a 6th form summer dress code to be introduced when the lower school summer uniform is introduced. The 6th form summer dress code would allow students to wear suitable shorts.

Currently wearing trousers in hot weather is causing male students to become irritable and distracted from their learning. The school's argument is that it would affect the schools reputation if male students were seen wearing shorts and wearing trousers prepares us for the work place, however female students are seen throughout the year wearing skirts far shorter than boy's shorts. Many places of work including high profile businesses such as Google Facebook etc allow staff to wear shorts. A suggested length of shorts eg just above the knee, would ensure that the school's reputation would be kept and that the shorts rule would be smart and would not look inappropriate.
