Why this petition matters

Petition to reinstate in-person graduation and baccalaureate with the graduating class of Bishop Kelley 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The state’s stage three guidelines are in place at this time and stage four guidelines will predictably be in place at time of graduation.  Other communities and schools are having in person ceremonies. Churches are now celebrating Mass with congregants.  We believe that our graduates deserve a ceremony that is not drive through. We appreciate that The Bishop Kelley administration has attempted to make a difficult decision, but we disagree and are asking for changes to the current plan.

We are also asking for a reinstatement of the All Night Graduation Party or the funds to be released to a private group of parents and students to plan a celebration.

We are also requesting for a reinstatement of Prom for the seniors or the funds to be released to a private group of parents and students to plan a celebration.

We value our years at Bishop Kelley and it is out of respect and a desire to honor those years that we make this petition.

The seniors have lost much in this pandemic and have worked hard for these important events. Current plans do not provide the necessary closure for this chapter of their lives. The hearts of these seniors are broken by the administration providing hope and then crushing it. We desire to provide celebratory events, that are as safe as possible, for the Bishop Kelley class of 2020.
