Helen Frazier started this petition to Bishop Jerome E. Listecki and

All the North Shore Catholic Schools students in 8th grade have dreamed to participate in the Elizabeth Ann Seton Volleyball tournament ever since they were in kindergarten. Every year they have seen former 8th graders compete in this tournament and have grown a desire to compete in it themselves alongside their classmates. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has cancelled many memorable activities in their 8th grade year, volleyball being one of the major cancellations. However, many high schools and club volleyball teams have established rules and regulations to keep players and spectators safe while allowing them to play the sport they love. We were so disappointed that our season wasn't able to follow these protocols and keep the game alive. Also, more and more advances are being made by scientists to help battle the corona virus. In addition, vaccines are being produced and used throughout the world which will allow a decrease in the numbers of COVID-19 cases. We believe that with the help of the Archdiocese and the high authorities throughout the North Shore schools, we can create a safe and fun way to have a volleyball season for the 8th graders in the Spring. We encourage all who read this to sign our petition and help support the 8th graders who have lost various opportunities due to the virus.
