The Content of the letter is as follows:

1.           With great enthusiasm, I feel proud to inform you that a 12-year-old kid from Silchar, Master Sumit Sinha, S/O Nabendu Sinha, and brother of Ms. Sudipta Sinha, a resident of Baromoni (currently residing at Itkhola, Silchar) has been granted admission into the prestigious Prakash Padukone Academy, Bengaluru (PPBA). His admission came in the fall of 2020 after a stupendous performance in the All India Talent Search Competition, organized by Prakash Padukone Academy in February 2020 where he finished 3rd. He shall be expected to join the Academy by October 29th, 2021.

2.           Prakash Padukone Academy, Bangalore (Est. 1994) is named after the Star Badminton ex-player Prakash Padukone, father of Superstar Actress Deepika Padukone. He was the first Indian player to achieve no. 1 ranking at the BWF rankings. The Academy is one of the top 10 academies in the country and has trained Ace badminton players like Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu, both of whom are Olympic medallists for India.

4.           Usually the expenses to train at the Academy would amount to Rs. 30,000/- monthly, however in the exceptional case of Master Sumit the amount has been discounted to Rs. 10,000/- (+GST) monthly. This happened because of his brilliant performance at the Talent Competition, follow-up camp, and the unearthed potential. This amount would include his training, boarding, and lodging expenses. As of now, his financial requirements are as described below:

i. Travel, Lodging, Admission Fees*
Type: One-Time
Amount: Rs. 35,000/-

ii. Training Fees, Lodging, Boarding
Type: Monthly
Amount: Rs. 10,000/- (+ GST)

iii. Yoga & Gym
Type: Monthly
Amount: Not declared

Note:- The monthly fees are to be paid on a monthly basis and in advance i.e. the fees for November should be paid during admission.

5.           Currently Sumit is in his teenage years (12 Years old as of date) and is his body and mind are in the stage of development. The peak age of performance for any badminton player is mostly from 20 to 26 years as this age range gives a player the best combination of strength and reflex. This puts Sumit in a well-balanced state where his development can be carefully monitored from an early age. His body would not only require adequate diet, but also proper training which he is guaranteed to receive at PPBA. Sumit is already a proven talent and with better training will only get better.

6.           Ours is a minuscule community with a handful of sportsperson performing at the National level in any sports. We do not have sportsperson to idolize and motivate the younger generation to excel in the field of sports. Sumit’s career growth would also help promote the dignity of the community. If Sumit performs as per our expectations, then he might become the next player to represent our Community at National and International level competitions.

7.           Sumit belongs to a humble family and his elder sister Ms. Sudipta Sinha, who works as a Badminton Coach at DSA, Silchar is the sole breadwinner for the family of three. Hence, without the aid of BMDC, his dream of playing International would be very difficult to achieve. Therefore I would request you to kindly sign this petition. It will be forwarded to the Chairperson of BMDC, Mrs. Rita Sinha. This will help us receive a Grant for Sumit's cause. As of now, the demand stands at Rs. 1,00,000/- on an annual basis for the next 5 years so that he can receive proper training at one of the best Institutions in the country. This would help ensure that Sumit’s training remains uninterrupted due to monetary issues and he can concentrate on his game.

Note:- This letter will be attached with a copy of certificates from the Tournaments/Competitions that he has excelled in. Also, a copy of the E-mail received from Mr. Vimal Kumar, Co-Founder PPBA shall be forwarded to her.
