Say NO to proposed cuts for vital funds for vulnerable people.

As you may have heard in the news, due to the period of austerity we are currently in, drastic cuts are being proposed to Supporting People funding, which funds the support that many not for profit organisations rely upon to do the vital work that they do.

We absolutely understand the extremely difficult decisions that have to be made. But, the level of cuts proposed would have a devastating and disproportionate impact on the most vulnerable, including people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, those experiencing domestic violence, people with mental health issues, people with learning disabilities, people with physical and sensory disabilities and vulnerable young people.

We need to ask ourselves, what is our ‘social’ not just financial bottom line?

Are we really okay with vulnerable people living and dying on our streets?

Are we serious about eradicating homelessness, safeguarding children and standing up for our most vulnerable?

Do we want increased begging and rough sleeping in our communities and outside our businesses?

Can we cope with the manifestation of increased discord, crime and despair on our streets and in our communities?

Is caring at the heart of our culture?

If you feel strongly that these cuts should not disproportionately affect the most vulnerable people in our society then please sign this petition.
