Pedestrian Crossing Needed on Wolverhampton Road South
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
Residents across Quinton and Harborne have expressed their concerns over the difficulty of trying to cross at the Wolverhampton Road South/Court Oak Road junction.
Residents have commented that all the other exits at the roundabout near the Co-Op have crossing facilities, except for the junction at Wolverhampton Road South.
Local Conservatives, Georgina Chandler is calling upon Birmingham City Council to install a pedestrian crossing at this junction to make it safer to cross especially for the elderly, disabled and those with children. This is needed more than ever now with the retirement apartments opposite the Co-Op due for completion in 2018.
It is to be noted that this junction is not just used by residents within local proximity but by all residents across Quinton and Harborne from all directions.
This is a very busy junction at all times of the day and crossing is made even more dangerous due to lots of drivers not indictating properly upon exiting the roundabout.
Many residents have already supported this motion following the team gathering signatures on the streets but we still need more support from local residents.
