For years residents of Alvechurch Road have been asking Birmingham City Council to introduce traffic calming measures in the road. The road is narrow with necessary roadside parking narrowing it even more and residents know that a lot of vehicles travel too quickly along the road at all times of the day causing regular accidents. The most recent accident involving a car which overturned and destroyed a resident’s vehicle could easily have been fatal. We call on Birmingham City Council to urgently reassess the situation and introduce traffic calming measures to prevent serious injury, death, destruction of residents’ property and severe stress to local residents.
