In Birmingham, 1/66 people in Birmingham are homeless. Included in this number are rough sleepers; there are 5x more rough sleepers in the West Midlands than there were in 2010. Clearly something is wrong and something needs to change. We ask Birmingham City Council to acknowledge the issue of homelessness within the city, and take more urgent steps to address this crisis. Everyone deserves a safe place to sleep and access to the help they need.

Birmingham City Council should:

a) Make services, including NHS provision, social support and mental health services more accessible to individuals without a permanent address.

b) Work in collaboration with the charity sector and enable them to fulfill their full potential.

c) Raise the profile of, and increase funding for, the Homeless Task Force.
