Children who are home educated by parents/carers/guardians do not currently get any free school meal vouchers. none of them have since the beginning of the FSM.

Lots of these children are not only home educated by choice, but because they can not cope in schools for many reasons beyond the control of the parents, schools and child, or because the schools can not meet the needs of the children, for example special educational needs children. 

Children who are home educated get little to no funding or resources to meet their education at all, the parents have to fund this themselves, meaning they are at extreme financial loss. Special education needs children who require even greater support and help, can ask for funding but this is limited meaning they are some of the most vulnerable children in need of free school meals
