Mercury is a liquid metal, naturally found within the earth's ground in the form of ore. But, by nature, it's known to be toxic. And yet, Mercury is extracted in mines and released into the air as a by product of us humans through industrial processes and other mercury containing products. The toxicity of Mercury can influence life (especially marine life) in harmful (and even fatal) ways on the neurological and reproductive level. The neurological part, especially, affects us humans as well as we're exposed to Mercury vapors (methylmercury) and, in relations to marine life, from Mercury-contaminated seafood. And, according to a study in 2014, mercury levels in our ocean tripled. This rise means the danger of mercury is growing, and we must be aware of the danger and everyone must know that danger of the element as well. Therefore, we must ring the bell to gain attention to all of our live kin before the rising threat will come for us all.
