It has been long known that mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell. What biologists and doctors won't tell you is what environmental science majors and climate studiers have known for ages - powerhouses that burn fuel contribute to global warming. Mitochondria add heat to the atmosphere, especially since much of the energy they produce is used to fuel organisms that radiate heat and perhaps even build coal power plants to worsen the climate issue even more. Thus, we are petitioning biologists and doctors to ban mitochondria and finally acknowledge the secrets they have hidden for so long.

We know that our petition has a long way to go - mitochondria support industries worth billions of dollars that will surely resist our good cause. But we know that through the power of the masses we can champion this excellent cause to save the world we live in from the threat of global warming. Ban the environmentally damaging and unethical mitochondria!
