Urge BPCI to drop MGI-PH franchise

Urge BPCI to drop MGI-PH franchise
Why this petition matters
Since 2015, the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) has been sending Filipina delegates to the Thailand-based Miss Grand International (MGI) pageant. But since then, no Filipina has ever won the title. Allegations on the pageant's discriminatory Eurocentric beauty standards (at least 5'8" tall, slender body structure, sexually attractive, and sometimes fair-skinned contrary to the common physical and psychosocial characteristics of Filipinas) similar to that of the Miss Universe pageant during Donald Trump's time as its owner, as well as its bias towards delegates from Central and South America and even from other Southeast Asian countries as evidenced by its roster of winners from its inception in 2013, takes place every year albeit the Filipina candidates' remarkably strong performances and massive audience following. Over the years, the Filipino pageant fans have invested time, efforts, and emotions in rallying for the country's first MGI title, but none of such investments come into fruition. WE, THE FILIPINO PAGEANT FANDOMS, ARE THEREFORE PLEADING THE BPCI TO DROP THE PHILIPPINE FRANCHISE OF THE MISS GRAND INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
