Sarah Teper started this petition to Binghamton University

Binghamton University graphic design students face projects that require long hours in order to complete our best work. Adobe programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign are necessary to our studies. For many students, commuting to the on-campus computer labs during uncommon hours is impractical. For the students who do not live on campus, it is significantly more difficult to be in the Fine Arts building at uncommon hours due to parking laws and other commuter issues. Many students cannot afford to subscribe to these programs on their own. Additionally, many schools provide student memberships to these programs for students within the major. If graphic design students had personal subscriptions to Adobe programs, it would give us the ability to work diligently at a pace that is more accommodating to our academic lives. Signing this petition means that you support Binghamton University giving graphic design students Adobe memberships for their personal laptops. This access will allow us to complete work at our highest potential, improve our portfolio pieces, and therefore increase our chances of eventually getting hired as designers. As interest in the graphic design classes rapidly increases among students, we feel that this could solve some of the ongoing scheduling issues within the art department. We understand that this can be an expensive accommodation, but we truly feel that this would greatly improve the productivity, education, and overall experience of graphic design students at this campus.
