Restore the education budget so that all schools are funded fairly

Hitchin Parents Against School Cuts is a non-party political action group set up in response to Government cuts to the education budget. The group was established to raise awareness of the serious effects of the funding cuts, and to express our concerns about the impact on school staff and children.
The importance of giving all young people a high-quality education is a mission that unites politicians, parents, governors, teachers and school leaders.
And yet school budgets are at breaking point. This is placing school leaders, teachers and support staff under significant stress and pressure. It is putting standards at risk, and affecting the education and learning experiences of our children.
This issue is currently affecting every child, regardless of their background or ability, or the political preferences of their parents!
Education can be seen as one of many priorities for the government. The continuing success of both public and private sectors depends on the quality of the education received by all those who contribute to our economy. We believe that education should be the government's top priority, in order for the next generation to succeed.
We cannot allow the cuts to continue. The government would like us to think that schools are coping. They're not, and they need our help to raise awareness of the seriousness of the issue, and to restore the education budget. We are calling on our MP and others within the government to bring this issue further up the agenda. Please sign our petition.
