On a busy street in Tawa, Wellington, New Zealand, the Biltong and Wors Shop's front window is currently dominated by a large flag which was flown during the apartheid era in South Africa.
This flag became a symbol of the brutal apartheid regime, which oppressed millions. It also become a symbol for white supremacy. For example, it was displayed on the jacket worn by American mass murderer and white supremacist Dylann Roof.
This flag is an insult to the victims of apartheid, the people of Tawa, and to New Zealand's values of tolerance, diversity and democracy.
In light of recent events, it is even more important to call out and challenge racism and white supremacy. Please sign this petition to help persuade the owners to do the right thing, and take this flag down.
