Make-My-Choices

Make-My-Choices
Why this petition matters
With the COVID-19 epidemic that is following the nation, so many life events have been canceled or indefinitely postponed.
From graduations to weddings to the birth of children, people are being forced to miss out on very important life events because people are contracting a virus that is very easily treated. Not to mention the fact that people are being forced to miss out on work and therefore have an inability to pay bills and stay afloat.
This petition is called Make-My-Choices, because people not only should have the right to choose what they are apart of, but we are entitled per our Constitution to do so. This country has a fundamental basis of free choice, and that is being stripped from people.
The CDC recommended bans are appreciated and should be considered in reference to public places. The issue, though, is that private events exceeding 50 people are being canceled.
The citizens of the great state of Tennessee should be free to choose what they want to subject themselves to and what not to. If one chooses to attend school, or a social gathering, he or she should have the liberty to choose that for himself or herself.
This choice is what day-to-day life is anyway. People choose everyday to subject themselves to illnesses, viruses and germs in general. Why now should be deprived of that choice? The death toll? More people have been treated and cured of the COVID-19 virus than have died.
Canceling/closing/postponing our entire state is more detrimental than allowing people the option of free choice.
Please sign this petition if you believe that people should have that choice.
