We have started this petition to give a voice to all of us who are fed up with the dangerous commute from Clarksville and Ft. Campbell to Nashville. We are tired of the commute times due to the sheer volume of traffic without the infrastructure to support it. We are tired of seeing so many accidents and fatalities that could have been avoided simply by having more lanes of travel with a better road surface. With only two lanes of travel in each direction, even minor accidents can cause delays that last hours. Clarksville and Ft. Campbell are predicted to increase in population by 40% over the next 20 years. That is close to 100,000 more people traveling this interstate. With an ever expanding Nashville population, the problem is only going to get worse. This interstate issue needs to be addressed, and soon. We can no longer keep kicking the can down the road. If Murfreesboro to Nashville can have multiple lanes of travel in each direction with multiple lane on and off ramps, that's the least we could do for Tennessee's 5th largest city.
