Conversion therapy has tortured many throughout history and still today. Conversion therapy is ineffective and does not convert LGBT+ people to "what they are supposed to be." All it does is scares them into lying to other people that they are who they are not. People are people and should not be afraid to be who they are. Everyone is human. Everyone deserves rights. Everyone deserves to be who they are and to be equal. You cannot change someone who is apart of the LGBT+ community. I am a highschooler apart of this community myself (Pansexual and Trans Masc). No one deserves to go through torture just because they are being who they are, so I want to start small. I want to start with the state that I live in before I try and act on the nation. Tennessee has only 1 law regarding the people of the LGBT+ community and that is same sex marriage. There are so many other laws that need to be enacted starting with this one.
