Washington Elementary School District is trying to shut down their current performing arts programs, and turn the current class in to a miniature club. This means that tons of teachers will be ''let go." Personally, I grew up in these programs. Twice a week, I would go into a small classroom and learned how to play the violin. I have so many friends through this program, and they are going to get rid of it. So many students use this as an emotional outlet. I don't have to tell you how music improves reading and writing skills, and all the studies that show this, because you probably already know. This will eventually tank the preforming arts programs at the feeder highschools due to not enough students. We don't know what else to do to convince the people running the school board.
