Recently it had come to our attention that an app called 'Likee' had stolen content on it from a similar app 'TikTok'. As content creators on TikTok, we felt it was our duty to go onto this other app and try to get our stolen videos taken down, which is another issue all together. 

Whilst scrolling through Likee we were prompted to give our location, as most apps do, because there were leaderboards for the different countries. This is where the main problem lies. Once you give Likee permission to know your location you are then prompted to go on a section of local videos. This allows you to not only see the other creators in your area but to see how far away they are from you. 

Whilst it doesn't say exact locations on the creators profiles, it does tell you the amount of kilometres away from you on the videos. This is already alarming and a major risk to your safety but it doesn't stop there. 

In the same tab that the local videos are shown, Likee gives you the option to select who you are searching for; eg females or males. So not only can you see how far away a person is from you, but you can also select the gender you are looking for as though it is a dating app. 

Likee is a children's video sharing app. A lot of underage children are on this app sharing videos of them in their school uniforms. With the amount of easily accessible information, we are concerned about the possible predators on this app using the information to find their next victim. 

We have tried contacting A Current Affairs and the organisation that runs the app to try and put a stop to this but we feel like it isn't enough. 

We need your help to take this app down for good. We need to spread the word and get this app that is unsafe for anyone out of the hands of children and, ideally, removed permanently.
