Abraham George started this petition to Future Group CEO kishore Biyani and

Our careless and Lavish use of resources have led us to today, where Our planet is getting quickly unstable and unsuitable for life.A global Climate catastrophe seems very likely according to most leading scientists.

India generates 9.46 million tonnes of plastic waste annually and 26,000 tonnes of plastic a day of which 40 per cent remains uncollected and 43 per cent is used for packaging, most of which is single-use.

Fate of non recycled plastic -

*79% end up in landfills, oceans and other natural environment.

*400yrs for a plastic bottle to decompose

*6.3billion tonnes of plastic has accumulated globally.(From the Economic times and the Hindu businessline)

Therefore our apathy towards Nature needs to end and it's time for us to take measures to mitigate this issue at hand.

Most Supermarkets like Big Bazaar, Foodhall etc continue the use of single use plastic for a lost of things.Such as

1) Plastic films used for wrapping Individual vegetables like Brinjal, corn and even coconut in some stores

2)Pre cut slices of various fruits being sold in transparent Plastic cups

3) Plastic nets for covering Individual Fruit.

4)Use of plastic cutlery and plates for the food served inside stores.

These Single Use plastic serves no purpose in preserving or making the product aesthetically pleasing.

Thus we, concerned citizens of the planet urge responsible and consumer friendly companies like Foodhall and Big Bazaar to take a step towards zero waste and sustainability by discontinuing the above mentioned single use plastic (such as nets, foams, films used for wrapping) and replacing them with eco friendly solutions such as BAMBOO or WOODEN PLATES AND Cutlery which should be disposed of responsibly as well.

By signing this petition, you participate in an effort to protect Mother nature and respect the planet that gave us life.
