Stand for Freedom of the Press and protect our nation’s watchdogs.
The White House has decided to stick their hands in the Joe Rogan cookie jar. Bear in mind, we are living in an era of extreme censorship on an international scale- unlike any that has occurred in history. Regardless of personal beliefs, our past teaches us censorship is a tool of oppressors that quickly lends itself to other tyrannical measures. Freedom of speech and freedom of the press are inherent rights as stated in the First Amendment of the united states Constitution.
Joe Rogan is one of the last true journalists. He certainly is the last with such a large audience. This is intimidating to all main stream media outlets, regardless of their allegiances, because none of them are without natural biases. On the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan merely asks the questions with no bias or prejudice. The truth and candor seen here is a direct threat to the credibility of all other outlets that do not use these same tactics.
As a country, our leaders need to be reminded more and more frequently that they work for us, not the other way around. That being said, the press holds an obligation to act as a watchdog for the people. “The press was to serve the governed, not the governors,” Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black said in 1971. Rogan’s podcast invites a myriad of individuals with widely differing views to speak openly. In doing this, the show serves the governed. Nothing is shrouded. Nothing is being forced upon the listener. No one has anything to gain. It is merely a conversation between one man- a reporter, a thinker, a questioner- and his guest. You, as the viewer have the ability to take what you hear and delve further into it.
The Biden administration attempting to censor The Joe Rogan Experience podcast is a direct attack on the First Amendment. This is inarguably a slippery slope. As Americans, it is our responsibility to protect and defend the Constitution, the Amendments, and the Freedom of the Press.
