Recently all of the Bible’s, children’s Bible stories and pictures of Jesus were removed from the patient rooms in the East Tn Medical Center care today clinic. The reason given was that there had been complaints about them. I am now making my voice heard and hope that others will sign on to have their voices heard as well. In this country that we live in today Christian’s are slowly being pushed into the closet and told to be quiet. Our voices are no longer allowed in public places while everyone else is allowed to say and do anything in public they wish to.  I fear eventually they will come to our homes to try and take our Bibles from us. We are not far from being persecuted as Christians in many other countries are. My issue is that if a Bible is in a doctors office and you do not want to read it then don’t open it. You don’t even have to look at it if you don’t want to. No one is forcing you to. However, for the many people in the community that do want it there it should be allowed to be there. For many people it provides comfort in a situation where comfort is needed. If you go in to a doctors office and there is a magazine or a newspaper with a cover or an article in it that you disagree with then you simply do not read it. It should be the same with Bibles. Our freedoms are being taken away slowly everyday and this may seem like a small thing to make into a public issue but I feel this is just the first small step by organizations that are against Christian’s to push Christian’s further into the closet and force our voices to be quiet. They have moved in to other states and taken over and now TN and it’s Christians are their targets. Currently 81% of Tennessee adults identify as Christians. At some point we as Christian’s must take a stand and fight for our rights. When did having a book that encourages loving others, condemns murder, lying and stealing become a bad thing?  This is my stand and I hope you will join me in this effort to restore our Bibles to our doctor offices.
