Rishi Yagnik started this petition to Superintendent Brad Hunt and

We currently live in the Parkside community, our children are assigned to Richard Lee Elementary school and Pinkerton Elementary school but in last few months we have been hearing about school rezoning and based on the information so far shared on maps, it is clear that Park side children will move to new elementary school.

Having said that, we would like Coppell ISD to hear out Park Side community concerns i.e. as follows -

1)Why kids should suffer here with rezoning ? kids are already doing so much commute daily to go to Richard Lee Elementary school, with new school rezoning will increase kids commute by 30 mins, it also mean that now kids needs to take bus around 6.30 AM and minimum commute time will be  1 hr to 1 hr 15 mins.

2) Since the commute time has increased to new school, it will also reduce the sleep for children and make them more stressful and cranky through out day. In a long run, it will affect the health of children and will neither enjoy the school nor education.

3) It will be real difficult for kids to cope up with new school as it changes their environment, friends and school teachers, which are well acquainted in their current school i.e. Richard Lee Elementary School. These changes will effect the kids for next 5 years till they gets graduated from elementary school.

 4) En-route to new elementary, there are two 20 mph zones because of middle school and Lee elementary. It adds to more to commute time either as a car rider or bus rider.

The concerns are not limited to 1 OR 2 families here, it has been linked to many families and their children who have been living in Park Side for more than 3 years and attending Lee Elementary school and Pinkerton Elementary School , it also indirectly impacts the child education and environment.

This move will also demotivate children to learn newer things and will depress them emotionally.

It will be unfair to Park side community in which Homeowners have paid premium prices for good schools.

With all the concerns mentioned, please allow Park side community children to go in the school they have been going, let them be in the same school and let the new school be used for newer communities.
