Save our Neighborhood! Say “NO” to another Gas Station / Convenience Store in this Area!

(There are currently three Gas Stations within 1 mile of the proposed Gas Station).

We ask that the following positions be considered and how this decision will impact our community and quality of life.

·         There are 2 subdivisions with over 100 homes that will be directly affected by this permit.

·         The fumes and lighting from the gas station will severely diminish the quality of life for residents. This gas station is within extremely close proximity of Fairview Elementary. School children will be inundated with pollution from the gas station on a daily basis.

·         There is also a direct correlation between convenience stores and illegal activity. Will gambling machines be allowed and will drug paraphernalia be sold?

·         There has been a significant increase in crime in the Fairview Rd. corridor within the last few years.

·         The gas station would add another point of entry onto Fairview Road increasing traffic in the area. Fairview Road is a two-way lane and is very narrow with minimal shoulders. This particular section has been very dangerous over the years. Accidents would cause severe delays in traffic movement. (Consider if this happens when school is dismissing or a bus is hit. There is no shoulder on the eastern portion of Fairview Road.)

·         This business will diminish property values for homeowners in both subdivisions as well as other homes along that portion of Fairview Rd.

·         It is also within a half mile of another gas station and one mile of two others that are currently on Fairview Rd. Another gas station/convenience store is NOT needed on Fairview Road.
