Save Blackfen Library and keep it as a council-managed service
This petition had 283 supporters
Blackfen is one of the busiest libraries in the borough of Bexley and it is a vital resource to those who live in and around Blackfen. Despite this the Council is planning to either close this library, or turn it into a community-managed library run by volunteers. The Council proposes to remodel the Bexley Library Service, retaining the Central, Crayford, Erith, Sidcup, Thamesmead and Welling Libraries as Council Libraries, while those of Blackfen, Bostall, Northumberland Heath and Upper Belvedere will either close or be run as Community Libraries. I am sure no-one wants to risk losing the library altogether, and even as a community-run library we would lose some of the valuable services the library currently provides. Please give your support and sign this petition to keep Blackfen as a Council Library. We, the undersigned, urge the council to reconsider the closure of Blackfen as a Council Library.
