We need your help!! 

Bexley council is planning to launch a public consultation with a view of closing the Speech and Language communication  resource unit at Upton Primary school by September 2019. 

Several  children  had benefited immensely from their  specialist teaching for many years. My son was almost non verbal when he started and lacked concentration. With the support he received by the  speech and language unit , he made so much progress and he's a different child all togheter. 

The resource building  is for children that require a specialist language-rich environment where
augmentative communication is used to enhance the children’s communicative knowledge and skills.They also take part in the full national curriculum suitably differentiated to take account of their interests and needs.

That's why it's important to fight for the place to remain open.

I am asking once again for everyone to support me in trying to stop the closure. 

The loss of this resource unit  would be immeasurable in the children’s lives.  Children will be placed either into the large mainstream classroom , which isn't what their EHCP recomends  or moved else where, having their primary school journey cut short.
