Petition to oppose Old Town Notl Development Plan before Jan 10/22 Public Meeting
Why this petition matters
Re: Parliament Oak proposed development - File Nos. OPA-04-2021 and ZBA-08-2021 - 325 King Street, Niagara on the Lake
I object to the proposed development plans created and submitted by developer Liberty Sites Ltd.
A revised development plan which meets established town planning parameters and bylaws such as low density, height restriction of 10 metres and historical character of the established surrounding neighbourhood architectural traits would be acceptable.
The proposed plan will inevitably increase Old Town traffic flow by its design of 71 apartments including a thoroughfare between the proposed houses and the 4 storey apartment building. The building height of 40 feet imposes upon the surrounding 17 existing homes despite proposed setbacks. The texture of window walls will affect lighting both day and night.
The contemporary modern industrial style of the building is not in keeping with the majority of historical architectural traits of Old Town structures.
The Developer’s amendment or variation requests will forever impact the future development of the NOTL residential and agricultural designations.
