Better treatment for Residents of 40 Barge Walk
Residents at 40 Barge Walk have had to put up with sub-par treatment when it comes to the management of the buildings' communal areas for years now and this has only gotten worse since Lee Baron has taken over as the Property Manager here at Lower Riverside. From long repair times to not even repairing at all. I personally know of multiple outstanding issues that were reported that have never been addressed, this was after Lee Baron sent out an email telling us how they were going to be better, do better and look into all the outstanding issues.
That was over 6 months ago now and here we are on day two with no lift and being told that it won't be fixed until at least Monday (4 days will have passed at that point). How do they think that is acceptable to have a lift out of service for that long? They have said they have put extra staff on to help take people's shopping up or other things they need but that is between an 8-hour window on Saturday and a 6-hour window on Sunday. Would this extra money not have been better spent on procuring the part needed and expediting delivery? I find it hard to believe the only option is to wait until Monday. What about the parents and guardians that have children? Children in prams? What about those less abled? Since Kone has been awarded the contract for the lift it has broken down more times than ever.
On Thursday morning they started replacing a part to the lift early morning after there were no glaring issues with the lift prior to that which stopped function. This means it was highly likely this was a scheduled repair. If this was the case why were we all not given notice so we could make adequate plans? They have the portal they could use to directly email residents, or they can contact L&Q who would then send a message to us. Even playing devil's advocate, nearly 36 hours later we have still had zero messages sent to residents. They may have put a sign up by the lift but this is not enough and we have had enough of this treatment.
As a fellow resident I plan to send this to the appropriate people to show them we want real change, so please if you are frustrated and annoyed as I am then sign the petition and feel free to add how this has affected you.
