Students of America, aren't you glad you are so? All over the world, there are children who remain uneducated and illiterate. Defenseless to the elements of civilization, unable to understand left from right, unable to understand the fundamentals of addition and subtraction. There are currently 72 million uneducated children around the world, and this does not count those who have grown up, still uneducated. We know very well if they had the chance to go to school and learn what their parents couldn't, they would take that offer in less than a heartbeat.

So we are very fortunate students of America, are we not? We live a nation that not only has free access to public education, but requires that you go to school for a minimum of ten years. And so students of America, we love school, don't we?

But we don't. Every day we enter school, only dreaming of that dream of being truly free from that which restricts us from a better life, that being so-called "education". Every day we enter our classes hoping and praying to God that we could only pass high school and continue on with our lives. We do not live through school, we survive. Grasping at every straw we can, hoping that it gets us through the day. Every time we go to school, we must endure teachers who are there to live, not to nurture the minds of the future of America. We must endure these educators, in which only a select few will truly enact what their job entails, and make those students feel welcome, and wanting to learn

I, as well as all other students of America, want not to live in a present where we ask each other what our grades are rather than what we learned. We do not want to live in a present where we must sit down and shut up, or face the punishment of whatever the teacher may lay upon us. We do not want to live in a present where Google will autocomplete "Why does school make me..." with tired, cry, so stressed, and so anxious.  We do not want to live in a present where grades matter more than what we learned. We do not want to live in a present where we must do the teacher's job and learn ourself the rudementaries of our classes, or face a very violent failing of the class.

So, students, former students, Citizens and parents of America, do you not want a truly friendly learning environment with teachers that are just as happy to be there as we should be? Do you not want to speak of that which you have learned over the seven or eight letters that make up your grades? Do you not want to go to school and feel happy, fulfilled, and ecstatic, rather than depressed, sluggish, and stressed?

Well, students, former students, citizens and parents of America, that is what I want to live in. I want to learn everything I can from teachers that are just as willing to be my friend and confidant as much as another student. I want to have a family, with a loving, happy wife that was raised in the same present we all dream for, and I want to have kids that would never have to know about what we had to deal with, what we had to endure. I want my kids to never come crying home from something that happened at school, I want my kids to come running home, excited to tell me about all of the amazing things they learned at school rather than me moping home to my dad to tell him that I am failing a class. And this, people of America is my dream, this is what I see every time I close my eyes.

And we are ready to make that dream a reality.
