Hayley Williams started this petition to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board

Patients of Pen-Y-Maes health centre have received correspondance stating the surgery will close at the end of September due to a termination of the contract between the surgery and Betsi Cadwaladr health board. This is a serious issue as Pen-Y-Maes health centre has over 8,700 patients, all of whom would have their care transferred elsewhere. I personally would be very uncomfortable changing GP's and having to explain my entire medical history again and also, I would be very unhappy having to travel miles to the next nearest practice to see a doctor, which can be a huge problem if you're seriously ill.

Pen-Y-Maes has been a lifeline for the village of Gwersyllt, and surrounding areas, since it was opened by Dr J Tattersall, Dr M Tattersall, Dr N W Braid, Dr M Cummins and Dr G Bates. Today, only the latter, Dr Bates, remains, but he is joined by resident GP's Dr Willis, Dr Halpin and Dr Carson - all fantastic doctors who strive to keep their patients fit and well. They are joined by a wonderful team of nurses, physio's, health visitors, midwives and admin staff, with the local chemist based in the same building.

We need as many people to support the surgery, it's staff, nurses and crucially, our GP's, and convince the politicians to fight alongside us to keep our practice open.
