The health board needs to reinstate a dedicated cancer ward at Wrexham Maelor hospital for all cancer patients who have issues or side effects from their cancer or their treatment. The same as Glan Clwyd and Bangor hospitals have.
Cancer patients cannot be expected to stay on general medical wards being treated by doctors and consultants who do not have the indepth knowledge of cancer, it's processes or treatments. Some cancer patients suffer from low white cell counts and are very susceptible to infections and cannot be expected to stay on a ward where infections are common.
