Put an End to Bethel Church’s Conversion Therapy

I am a teenage girl who grew up in a Christian church. I am also LGBTQ+ affirming and accepting, and I love all people. It is 2019, and homosexuality is a natural, normal, human part of life. The fact that it is still considered a “sin” is not only inaccurate, but it is hurtful, traumatizing, and exclusive.

Despite society progressing forward, Bethel Church has decided to create a conversion therapy “movement” called Changed. This will create psychological damage to children, pre-teens, and teenagers who are discovering themselves and trying to be proud of their sexual identity while also believing in Jesus.

Teenagers who have experienced conversion therapy are SEVEN TIMES more likely to commit suicide, and teenagers who are a part of the LGBTQ+ community and a church are TWICE as likely to commit suicide.

Please sign my petition to stop Bethel Church from continuing with this psychologically scarring “therapy,” and to make Christianity a more accepting community for lgbtq+ teens.
