As an alumni from Bethany College I feel strongly about doing the best to protect the current students, faculty, and staff at Bethany.

To that end, I believe that Bethany should not be opening the campus in the fall. It is commendable that Bethany wants to bring a sense of normalcy back into the lives of current students and beyond, but we must ask if it is yet time to “get back to normal.” COVID-19 cases are rising in the US, and we need our leadership to step up and help to slow the curve. Opening the campus to in person classes would do the opposite of this. Is it worth exposing students, faculty, or staff to this life changing illness, when there is not yet a vaccine, cure, or even a semblance of control over its spread? I say no. 

I would like to ask that you support me in this endeavor, and ask the leadership at Bethany College to keep the campus closed for the time being. Won’t you sign this petition?
