Berry College should offer satisfactory/unsatisfactory grading options for the Spring 2021 semester. At week 7, students are extremely exhausted. We lost another mid-semester break and many of us are still learning through a computer screen. Learning through Zoom not only takes additional time and effort, but forces us to sacrifice self-care habits like sleep, exercise, and counseling. Covid-19 is still very prevalent in the community and the idea of students going in and out of quarantine is stressful to those taking precautions to stay well. Why offer S/U only for Fall 2020 when nothing has changed for students this semester?

I know of many professors who are willing to cooperate with us during this hard time and for that, we thank them. Doing this is not an exemption from learning, but an understanding that we have many other pressures to deal with at this point in time.
