At the October 15 Village of Riverside Board of Trustees meeting, a discussion on whether to begin the process of legalizing video gaming in Riverside was had.  Among trustees, there was very little dissent and they quickly came to an agreement that it's a good thing for the village (with the exception of Doug Pollock, who stood by his opinion that this is a terrible idea).  The meeting ended with the instruction to have the village attorney draft an ordinance to vote on in November.

We need to send a clear message to our village board that we DO NOT want this in our town.  Furthermore, we need to make it clear that the Board of Trustees focus on fixing other major problems plaguing our downtown district.  And they need to get in touch with the community; it seems they carried out this action with absolutely no input from the village other than the two businesses that lobbied for this and would stand to gain the most from this change.
