Poor mobile (cellular) phone connectivity in around the towns of the Omaha Reservation directly impacts the health and safety of thousands of tribal members. Accessing medical care, emergency services such as police, fire, and ambulance is extremely difficult for members of the community. Mobile devices are the primary means of communication for tribal members, but they face delays in accessing services due to the absence of adequate cellular signal. Communication within and between organizations that serve the community are impaired. This could be addressed by providing an adequate number of towers to provide coverage.
