Ein Carem Agricultural School started this petition to Supreme Court of Israel

The average living space of an Israeli prisoner is 3 square meters, as opposed to 8.8 in the rest of the western world. Most prisons in Israel don't have proper ventilation, medical care is minimal, and often lacking in means and equipment.

Not only does this condition violently violates the prisoner's human right for dignity, it also puts the rest of Israel's citizens at risk: a prisoner which had poor living conditions in their jail time is proven to be far more likely to continue on commiting crimes after they are released. This fact means that Israel is risking it's citizens by not giving it's prisoners the living conditions they deserve, as humans.

Right now, Israel's government's solution for  this, is to just release lighter sentenced prisoners earlier in their jail time, thus releasing thousands of criminals before their original release date, and risking the public even more.

This canno't continue. The Israeli government needs to take action, and for the sake of it's citizens and their human rights, improve the living conditions of Israel's prisoners.

Every vote counts!
