Benetton, hands off from Indigenous lands in Argentina!

On January 10 and 11 2017, over 200 members of the national armed forces joined by the police took over Mapuche territory in Cushamen, southern Argentina. On day one they locked down the place, on the second day they brutally attacked the Mapuche People with rubber bullets.
The land in dispute was taken back by the Mapuche People in 2015, having previously been owned by the Benetton Group. Benetton, owner of the fashion retailer "United Colours of Benetton", is the biggest landowner in Argentina with 900.000 hectares in its possession.
This is a case in which Indigenous Peoples are under attacked by a huge international corporation that uses the national government and police forces to illegitimately take over land that isn't theirs.
Together we can make a difference and bring justice for the Mapuche People in Cushamen.
We are asking Mr. Claudio Avruj, Human Rights and Cultural Diversity National Secretary; Mario Das Neves, Chubut Province Governor; and Patricia Bullrich, National Defense Minister, to:
. Conduct a proper and impartial investigation into the acts of violence that took place on January 10 and 11 2017, publicly publish the results and bring to court whomever is is implicated for being responsible for these acts.
. Adopt any necessary measures that guarantee the safeguard of the Mapuche community in Cushamen.
. Resolve the land dispute with the Mapuche People in Cushamen and the Benetton Group in accordance with the ILO Indigenous and Tribal Peoples Convention, 1989 (No. 169).
