Kate Yeomans started this petition to Bend City Counsel

Recently Bend Bulletin published an article about apartment development along the bluff by Bill Healy bridge on Reed Market Rd. near SW Century Drive. This is absolutely unacceptable. Can we not preserve the land and natural environment in bend? Walking trails and greenery will be torn down for 7 acres of apartment buildings ranging from 50-60 ft tall, according to the article.

These massive eye-sores will be towering over the popular area of Deschutes River previously popular for recreational purposes such as floating the river (a popular tourist attraction) as well as kayaking and paddle boarding. It should be known that bend residents who have been here for a while have witnessed bends expansion and wreck of natural beauty. We cannot have this anymore.

There are many areas in which new Bend development can occur. For many of us this natural beauty is why we moved to Bend.

please help us preserve natural beauty within city limits. Show them we care!
