Michael Rollings started this petition to BEN JEFFREY PONTYPOOL RFC

First, George Floyd method of death was abhorrent.Let us remember American Policing is different to the British Bobby and the action was indefensible. However to import Americas problems and use them as an excuse to tear down Statues is also abhorrent. This Country is a democracy and should take pride in its free speech and freedoms even if that does not extend entirely to its history*. The self righteousness of a section of the population and the protesters to determine what they think is acceptable behaviour through mob rule, attacking the Police etc., should not go unpunished. It is anarchy.

In Pontypool RFC a single player chose not to kneel. This is her right and people can applaud or disagree. It is called "freedom of speech".For Mr Jeffrey to be the arbiter of peoples opinions and banning a supporter for an opinion made on Twitter adding "good riddance" puts him in a category where he thinks he is above the Law. It is probable many others shared that supporters opinion so is he going to ban them too?

All lives matter and empathy and tolerance will achieve more than demonstrations which could alienate the very support they seek. Some Chiefs of Police in the USA (Denver for example) are trying to change the policing culture. Some kneeling with groups protesting at the behaviour of elements within the Police force. The message seems to be one of engendering mutual respect.

Mr Jeffrey banning a Pontypool supporter has compromised the young lady. She was courageous and has her views. Her and the supporter were not rioting or pulling down statues to make their point. We may not agree with the views, or Politics, of those who have Statues to their memory, erected by others. *Auschwitz, and other camps, remain as a reminder to war time atrocities, remove them and we may erase our memories. The same is true of Statues, stand in judgement of them as is your right, but remember, it is only YOUR opinion...others have a right to theirs.

This supporter applauded courage and saw potential anarchy in this movement, should he be banned from supporting his Rugby Club?
