Security cameras & lights at Central Elementary in Belmont, CA

Security cameras & lights at Central Elementary in Belmont, CA

Campus security at Central Elementary in Belmont, CA is not modern, and we need security cameras, plus better lighting, as deterrents for criminal behavior on campus. The need is obvious based on what's happened on campus, incidents both small and deeply tragic. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Education issued research (link below) from 2015-16 showing that 81% of schools nationwide employ security cameras, and this number is likely now higher in the wake of the Parkland tragedy and other national events. Therefore, the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District is significantly behind the nation in providing security cameras on campus. We owe it to our kids, and ourselves; this is the world we live in now, we can't pretend the world hasn't changed. Let's pressure the District to take action-- lights and security cameras now. Thank you.
