I am calling on the local councils in belfast, Antrim and lisburn to create and develop a motocross practice track. Just like a public golf course the object is to provide an opportunity for motocross enthusiasts to ride their motorcycles in a dedicated environment free from hazards of oncoming traffic and pedestrians. 

Over the last number of weeks the streets have been littered with motorcycles and quad type bikes. I have built a track to prevent these things from happening. The lisburn council told me after the build that the track had to be levelled. Not only did I lose every penny of my budget doing this but also the cost of insurance on top of that. That I can not use and also can not get out of until the year is up. 

Today one of the fastest growing sector of motocross is the track day. Enthusiasts are taking to the track in increasing numbers to experience the full potential of their motocross bikes, in a safe controlled and dedicated environment. This is difficult for the people of Belfast, Antrim and lisburn, as they have to travel two hours to get to such place. 

The majority of people are amateur riders, they are biking enthusiasts seeking the safety in controlled conditions offered by a dedicated track venue. This is something the people of this area has not got the privilege of and the councils of this area need to address the problem and save a life and the streets of antisocial behaviour regarding the street bikes. This would not only safe a lot of money in the long run it would also save people like my self from losing everything I had to prevent such things from happening. Also a family losing a life on the streets with these bikes.

Every other country has such privileges such as  motocross parks,  skate parks, down hill mountain biking tracks all provided by local councils why should northern Ireland be any different?

I am asking as many people possible who agree to sign the petition and share it so we as a community can get the council to wake up and provide our community a motocross facilitie.
