Copperas cove high school currently has a policy stating that STUDENTS AND PARENTS WHO PAY  for their child’s cap and gown cannot decorate their cap. Many student in the ‘23 senior class would love to be able to express their culture or the things they love to do through their cap. It is also a great platform to be able to express things from being that it’s our graduation. Staff here at the high school say that it would be a problem to let us kids decorate OUR own caps for OUR graduation because they would have to check to make sure our caps are appropriate. Our class president proposed an idea to our grade level counselor to be able to make time to review caps before graduation, and he didn’t give it no consideration about taking it to higher ups. Graduation is a big part of a students life and being threatened with no diploma or being able to walk the stage because someone showed up with a decorated cap is very ridiculous. I hope everyone including parents can take the time out of their day to sign it wether you care for decorating your cap or not, because their is a lot a students who would want to be able to do this and it shouldn’t be shut down by (copperas cove high school�) Now we all understand Dr Burns would have to approve it, but at least this petition would be some sort of first step to being to get it into consideration.
