Agree with all points and especially that this is only going to become more frequent/get worse with climate change. Also agree with the need for a review of the additional planned housing on Great Denham Country Park, which has proved that it is a flood plain. It would not be fair on perspective purchasers and I imagine further development (and less soakaway space between the development and the river) would be detrimental to Great Denham's flood risk.

The damage this flooding has caused is devastating. Home owners are worried about immediate future flooding as well as long term. The Environment Agency needs to account on how it is spending Bedford Council taxpayers’ money to protect local residents from future flooding and also take responsibility in investigating what happened recently!

The river needs dredging, fields need ditches cleared.

I have lived in Potton, Beds for over 30 years and cannot believe the amount of flooding there is, how dangerous it is with the fields overflowing onto the roads and with the water comes slippery mud.

My house was surrounded by water last night and it was thanks to the firebrigade that it did not come in. Something needs to be done about the flooding in this district. Fast.

I live in Bedford and am concerned by the increase in flooding from what used to be infrequent/ 'once in a lifetime' type events to almost annually or even more frequently. Bedford needs better defences, a better support network for those residents most at risk and also to stop any future building on what remains of our flood plains!!!

I live in the town centre of Bedford as do many friends and it was very frightening a couple of weeks ago when the river flooded. Flooding is going to be getting worse with climate change, new ideas and action are needed to protect people and their homes
