Beaverton School District: Transition to CDL Learning
Beaverton School District: Transition to CDL Learning
The Covid-19 Pandemic is serious. With the new variant, Omicron, infection rates throughout the nation have skyrocketed. Even in Oregon, cases exceed 10k per day and only continue to exponentially grow. As a student in a BSD high school, I personally experience the regulations being enforced on the student body to no avail. Many people still take off their masks, don't practice social distancing, and continue unsanitary behavior that could promote the spread of Covid-19 within our schools. I personally know people who continue to attend school, even while testing positive for Covid-19. While I do recognize that it is difficult to shut down the school system along with expensive, I feel that we should put the health and safety of our students before regulations. BSD usually follows a reactive system rather than a preemptive system, meaning that action will only be taken after a drastic event occurs. In this case, a reactive system puts many students in danger of testing positive for Covid-19 and being seriously ill. With a preemptive system of converting to online CDL learning, we can save many students from potential disastrous situations. Please, sign for change and the safety of our students within the Beaverton School District.
