Allow parents to walk their students into school on their first few days!!

ALLOW PARENTS TO WALK OUR CHILDREN INTO SCHOOL ON THEIR FIRST FEW DAYS!!
Let me get this straight.. there were HUNDREDS of people (parents, students -including siblings that didn't "need" to be there- and staff) at Back to School Night at PVES last night (and will be again tonight), but we can't go past the front door to walk our prek-er to their classrooms on the first day of school due to covid-related concerns? On what planet does that make sense? Someone with some inside knowledge please tell me this is going to change.. at least for the first day? Also, before it's said, I know they're just trying to keep us "safe," but this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
I would also like to point out that "masks are required for all visitors." A recently-approved state law mandates that districts and schools cannot mandate masks on students and staff, however the loophole is that they CAN mandate them for visitors, vendors, blah, blah, blah.. Another loophole- the kids even have to wear them on the hot-*** buses! I'll say it: I hate the masks. They're stupid and what the hell are they actually preventing? Follow the science, right? Well- over half of the parents were not wearing a mask. As I said, I do not care - I will put multiple masks on if I have to, if that means I can walk my children into school. If I'm required to put one on, I will - no biggie for me.
My point is this: How are you going to mandate masks on visitors and not follow your own protocol when there are HUNDREDS of 'outsiders' INSIDE the school, but you won't let me walk my FOUR YEAR OLD to class on her very first day of school.. ever?!
My heart abso-freaking-lutely breaks for all of our children, their future and the cluster**** of a school year they're entering into. They're growing up thinking this is NORMAL. This is far from normal. Quit taking stuff away from our kids.
For any of you with a child of ANY age, you know what that first day of school means.
You know what it means to our children as well as us to be able to walk them to class.
You know that feeling of walking your child to class and trying to hold back the tears as they walk away from you, because you know that single moment will NEVER happen again. Ever.
You know that feeling of walking out of the school, to your car, knowing that your baby is actually growing up.
I'm not doing this to be petty. I'm doing this to make sure our kids at least start off their school year normally and it's our job as parents to fight for what our kids need and to fight for some normalcy in their lives.
