Don’t let a valued coach, teacher, and person be let go!
Why this petition matters
Coach and teacher, John Stewart, has been told he’s being let go by the principal of Big Bear High School a couple weeks ago.
Mr. Stewart has been a great leader, coach, teacher, person, and staff member for the time he’s been here. He’s impacted many students life’s within the short time the School District has had him here. Mr. Stewart has gotten through to many students, and has had the ability to thoroughly teach us what many could not. As a football coach, he has had a winning season taking his team to CIF, was awarded League Coach of the Year, and coached in the Desert League All-Star game. So, imagine the difference he could make at Big Bear High School if we kept him here.
Personally, I am an athlete that Mr. Stewart has coached. He’s taught me major values to life that haven’t been taught to me outside of home life. It’s affected the way I view life now, and the way I go about it. He’s been a great role model to me, and my fellow athletes/classmates, to watch. We don’t want to see our teacher/coach go so soon! We are demanding the board to reinstate John Stewart’s job as a teacher and our head football coach to make his 2022-2023 school year his first tenured year as a Bear Valley Unified School District educator.
As a student, I can only do so much as one person. So help us, Big Bear High School students, make a difference in our school board’s decision today by signing our petition.
