Jeremy De Sousa started this petition to Beaconsfield City Council and

Transport accounts for 28% of global greenhouse gas emotions, and 45% in Quebec. Global warming is posing an existential threat to all of us. In the near future, we will all see irreversible changes to our planet if we do not take action as a community right now. The changes we make now can also have a positive effect on well-being and overall health.  We residents of the west-island have a beautiful landscape that is perfect for biking and walking and with the posing threat of climate change, there is no better time to invest in these modes of active transport. Let's ask Benoit Charette, Minister of environment, Georges Bourelle, mayor of Beaconsfield, and John Belvederem mayor of Pointe-Claire to improve biking infrastructure and increase walkable areas in our community to facilitate walking and biking around our neighborhoods. This shift would have an immense impact on our greenhouse gas emissions and possibly lead us to be carbon neutral, a goal many of the biggest countries and corporations have set as a target.

We must make this change as a community, a push for active transport will help reduce our carbon footprint and increase health. Action must be taken to protect our planet before it is too late. Sign and help take the first steps towards a greener community!
