Developers are planning to construct approximately 60 houses in the disused Lincoln Cathedral Quarry behind Riseholme Rd. The bund which surrounds the quarry was planted with native species of trees over 30 years ago and this is now a mature wildlife area. The plans for the housing estate include the partial demolition of the bund which will kill the trees.  However it is possible to retain the bund and still construct the houses. This petition is asking the developer and the authorities to ensure that this precious wildlife area is maintained as an ark in what has become a sea of development in the north of the city. We need to stop the habitual destruction of trees and green spaces and we can start here!
